Hello Ewan, You've developed this laughter that is like a wild fire - once ignited, it goes on and on. This phenomenon starts when you see or hear silliness, like an odd expression on my face or a funny noise. I pretend that you "got me" at something and that would usually trigger you. Of course, I enjoy seeing this spontaneous outburst. It makes me laugh like hearing a very funny joke. It's like the warm summer sun. This happened yesterday when we were chatting after lunch in our backyard. It was one of those days with absolutely perfect temperature and extraordinarily blue sky. We sat together on our outdoor sofa and you ask me for a story. I stared up into the trees, where there were swaying leaves, to think of a suitable story. At that moment, you saw my "thinking" face and started to laugh. I guess you saw a bit of silliness triggered you and started to crack up. Hello Ewan, It was a sunny and warm day. I have a rare day off on this Friday before Victoria Day long weekend. We descended downtown on a day trip. End of the day, we were both exhausted. But we had some fun. Here's what happened. We needed to catch the 8:46 go train so we left around 8 to grab some breakfast. You got up right on time, brushed and dressed without too much nagging needed. Very proud of you! I think you were afraid that you'd miss the train. We got to the train station about 20 minutes before and you were so excited. You kept asking why is the train late. After all, we are here and the train not yet here? It must be late! I explained it is not late but we are early, which is just right. This was your first time on the GO train since you were like 3. Needless to say, you were excited. When you saw the CN tower, your eyes lit up. You turned to me to say, thank you Dada for taking me here. That warmed my heart. I got my TTC ticket and swiftly made our way to the RO...

Hello LL, This was our first March break and we were not quite ready for it. I took 3 days off work since mom has exams during this time. On the Friday before, I got a call Uncle Gabriel and I never get a call from him (I thought he was in some kind of trouble). But actually, he wanted to see if I'd like to get a few nights of hotel that he cannot use. After a bit of consideration, we said yes. The hotel is literally 4 minutes drive from our home. With mom having to stay home to study, I took you over to the hotel to swim 3 days in a roll. You hung onto a noodle and kicked around the pool with me spotting slightly. You were totally relaxed and in the zone for a few moments. And that's why I wanted. Don't want you to be afraid of the water. I want you to associate good thoughts and memories about swimming. After swimming, we'd go up to the room to snack and watch TV. It was pretty nice. We could've stayed overnight at the hotel but didn't.  Home is just that much...

Dear Ewan, Last weekend, you watched your first movie in theatre. It is the end of March break and there were these $3 tickets. I got tickets for the 3 of us to watch Arctic Dogs. Unfortunately, mom has to stay home to study. So off we went. You were a little scared when the bad guy seem to be winning; so you sat on my lap half the time 😂. But when the good guys started to win you were ok. We kept our masks on the whole time for good measures so it was good. You also ask me to buy you some smarties which you enjoyed during the movie. Overall, it was fun and you were in good spirit. When we drove home, you saw a place called Blaze Pizza. You are very much into the Blaze animation and you thought it was very funny.  Dada

Hello LL Before I had kids, I've always wanted the feeling of someone running towards me when I come home from work. I have told WY this and have jokingly said that this was my dream. In the past few years, since you were about 3 years old, I've enjoyed this ritual. Exception is when you ares watching TV in which you wouldn't even notice if the abominable snowman came through the door. Today I managed to take a video to capture this.

 Hello LL, This is another post out of my diary. Another thing. LL has been air drumming and singing to a few classic rock tunes. Songs like living on a prayer, don't stop believing and his favorite, summer of 69. Cracks me up that a 5 year old would enjoy and sings there old man songs. Finally got his Christmas wish At The Alley bubble tea place Taking in the wonder of the Lego wall. On Saturday, I wanted to head out for drinks with my friends. Kind of spontaneous. We had already gone out to the playground in the morning. And WY needs to study so I need to watch him. And LL didn't want to come. He just wants to stay home and play. So I hinted that we'd go pickup a police station Lego set - something he wanted since Christmas. So we did.  We found a place that has stock in Richmond Hill and drive there. It was a gorgeous sunny day too. The experience of taking him to a physical toy store was fantastic. He was so happy. Then we drove to Markham to have drinks with my friends...

Hello LL, Haven't done a post in a while (4 years). You have grown from a baby to a confident boy. This was taken from my diary... It's already Feb. Time flie. Ewan did his second shot yesterday (Sunday). He was talking about how scared he is and "has a bad feeling about going" couple of days before. When we got there, he still hesitated. The nurse/doctor talked him into taking off his jacket and sit on my lap. Here's the amazing thing. I rolled up his sleeve and he became still. What happened was that "he closed his eyes and thought of something happy" - from Daniel Tiger. I totally forgot about it but I reminded him the night before to do so when he is scared. He didn't respond at the time but damn it he remembered moments before he got the needle. I am so proud of him (and myself). He didn't even cry or screen. Nothing. He got a fancy Band-Aid which he will show his friends in school and we did a couple puzzle while we waited. That night, he ...
